Social Work Officer (at the rank of Student Advising Officer) in the LKS Faculty of Medicine (Ref.: 523065)(to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal)

Applicants should possess a recognised degree or equivalent in Social Work from a local university, and be registered with the Hong Kong Social Workers Registration Board. They should have at least 2 years relevant experience in healthcare or an NGO-related eld, preferably with experience working with cancer patients and their caregivers. They should also have good counselling skills, knowledge of and interest in digital health intervention, an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese, strong communication and interpersonal skills, analytical thinking, empathy, and commitment to patient care.

The appointee will join the HKU Jockey Club Institute of Cancer Care (HKU JCICC) team to develop evidence-based supportive cancer care services. They will (i) provide counselling service for cancer patients and their caregivers (ii) develop digital health intervention/education for cancer patients and their caregivers (iii) create public education materials and provide professional input in the team's social media work (iv) plan and conduct patient groups (v) deliver cancer-related education programmes and (vi) conduct research in relevant areas.
