Senior Specialist / Specialist (Systems Infrastructure) (Ref. 221201017)
Duties
The appointee will work in a team responsible for the development, support and management of system infrastructure services and will be required to:
(a) carry out support and development works for various IT automation with open source software;
(b) carry out development, optimisation and enhancement works on various infrastructure such as University Computing Infrastructure including virtual machine and container management;
(c) perform administrative and technical duties for different hypervisors such as KVM and Hyper-V environment;
(d) provide technical advice on servers, desktops and applications setting to various stakeholders and users;
(e) handle incidents, user requests, system administrative works and trouble-shooting jobs;
(f) apply system and application patches, and develop scripts for task automation and monitoring;
(g) provide after-office-hour standby/emergency support duties as and when required; and
(h) perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of the Office or his delegates.
Qualifications
Applicants should have:
(a) a recognised degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline;
(b) preferably at least one year's relevant working experience for Specialist post, and at least five years post-degree working experience for Senior Specialist post;
(c) knowledge of Linux operating system, Microsoft Windows Server, computer clustering architecture, KVM, Microsoft HyperV, Container and programming skills including bash and Powershell;
(d) strong analytical skills with good interpersonal and communication skills; and
(e) the ability to communicate effectively in both written and spoken English and Chinese, including Putonghua.
Preference will be given to those with experience in GitLab, DevOps and Microsoft System Center.

Conditions of Service
A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
