Role Purpose

Supports the management of indexes by reviewing and refreshing a range of standard indexes.

Role Profile

The Index Specialist role sits within the Index Delivery Group (IDG), which is part of the Information Services Division. The IDG is responsible for the coordination, creation and delivery of all new FTSE Russell index products, including Bespoke & Custom Index products. Key Responsibilities Maintaining the excellent quality standards within the Index Delivery team. Collation, analysis and manipulation of index related data to support index and product builds according to client requirements and in line with client and business expectations for delivery into the live environment.

Role Responsibilities

  • Maintains the integrity and accuracy of indexes, and reviews data to ensure completeness, authenticity, accuracy and timeliness

  • Maintains a broad understanding across a range of indexes, staying abreast of market standards and common terminology.

  • Conducts basic reviews and refreshes of standard indexes, advising and updating relevant teams of appropriate changes.

  • Reviews data to ensure completeness, authenticity, accuracy and timeliness.

  • Compiles a list of required changes to indexes, liaising with relevant teams to ensure changes are actioned promptly and accurately.

  • Performs the vital validations and checks on indexes throughout the trading lifecycle, including before and after markets close.

  • Understands and appropriately applies policies, procedures and controls.

Requirement

  • Degree or equivalent financial qualification.

  • Experience within the financial industry, ideally within an index company, working with indexes or supporting portfolio management/administration.

  • Working knowledge and understanding of global financial markets and products, incorporating indexes, is needed.

  • Ability to work to strict deadlines and lead workloads optimally a pressured environment. A proven record for achievement in delivering a high quality service.
