Job Description

Role Responsibilities

Ent to end responsibility for overseeing the entity&rsquos accounting, financial reporting, treasury, finance risk, governance and administration that comply with the various regulatory and statutory requirements in areas of Company Law, Taxation, 3rd party bank in China, Group Reporting and accounting principles.
Key person to support Chief Financial Officer in overseeing the Finance function for GBS China and developing the appropriate financial governance and control framework including liaison with external regulatory bodies.
Managing the diverse Business Units and regulatory requirement of each individual SCB countries.
Finance point of contact in respect of invoicing pricing and tax documentation for regulators.
Assisting and supporting Chief Financial Officer in providing the financial insights, tax, controls of the entity. Overall responsible to ensure the entity&rsquos achieving a cost optimal based on its service level commitments to the Group.
Meeting the relevant regulatory, audit and taxation requirements.

  • Collaborate with P2P Business Partners to:

    • Support business partnering with Business Units

    • Ensuring overall entity&rsquos financials are in line with regulatory requirements (Transfer Pricing margins and overall cost base)

  • Review balance sheet reconciliations and ensure validations of financials

  • Ensure timely and completeness of month end closing to deliver internal and external financial reporting requirements

  • Manage statutory audit from internal and external

  • Liaise with external auditors, bankers and relevant authorities as required

  • Ensure of an effective and efficient treasury management function to ensure that there are sufficient cashflow to meet business objectives

  • Identify opportunities for improvement and efficiency in financial processes

People and Talent

  • Lead and supervise the Country Finance team to meet its performance objectives and operate as a high performing team

  • Actively coach and mentor direct reports and junior finance staff to develop them for wider roles and responsibilities

  • Manage an effective working collaboration with internal Global Finance Services and continuously look for opportunities for operational efficiency migration

  • Proactive and effective stakeholders engagement to drive strong financial control, and support best commercial practices in the Company

Risk Management

  • Assist the Chief Financial Officer and the Unit Operation Risk Manager in identifying and managing key risk areas ensure compliance and improve internal controls and financial processes for the Company. This includes building management and operational control awareness within Country Finance team and ensure applicable policies and procedures are documented and embedded in operating manuals and instructions

Relevant Finance senior management experience, including:

  • Strategy setting.

  • Budget management and financial compliance.

  • Accounting standards/ policies and Financial Control framework.

  • Regulatory compliance.

  • Resource and people management.

Numerate, able to distil the key messages from large amounts of data quickly, and be very comfortable dealing with project accounting & financial reporting.
Results and outcome focused, rather than status and role conscious.
