AI/ML Application Engineer

Hello, our team is hiring! We're a Vision AI department with a large group of experienced data scientists and machine learning engineers. The team focuses on developing and productizing AI/ML and Agentic AI applications to optimize the production efficiency, quality and people productivity of semiconductor manufacturing processes for global footprints.

The application fields include but not limited to defect/parts inspection, object detection, anomaly detection, customized LLM/VLM, multi-agent workflows, etc.

On top of the robust MLOps platform we built, we strive to make positive impact to the digital transformation of Fab operations through the evolution of state-of-the-art AI methodologies and systematic integrations to manufacturing process steps.

Job Position: AI/ML Application Engineer

Vision and Numeric AI Productization Department, Intelligent Manufacturing Center (IMC)

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced AI/ML Application Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and developing machine learning systems, implementing appropriate ML algorithms, and conducting experiments. They will possess strong programming skills, knowledge of data science, and expertise in statistics. The candidate will work with various types of data to create models, perform statistical analysis, and train and retrain systems to optimize performance.

Job Responsibility:

* Algorithm research and development on image recognition, object detection, anomaly detection and other Vision AI related applications.

* Application system design and development, including system infrastructure (docker/K8S) and Web applications for Intelligent Manufacturing Solutions.

* System analysis, design, development and integration of cross-organizational systems.

* MLOps best practice to ensure the robustness, reliability and performance of AI/ML systems.

* Follow on-duty rotation to monitor and react to system events.

Job Requirements:

* Master's degree or above, major in Computer Science, Information Engineering, Industry Engineering, Statistics or Mathematics related fields.

* Proficiency with agent architectures and frameworks (e.g., LangChain/LangGraph, CrewAI) and SDD (Spec-driven Development, e.g., OpenSpec). (A Plus)

* Strong technical hands-on skills in at least several of the following: Python, React, Pytorch, Tensorflow, docker/K8S, distributed systems, vLLM, multimodal RAG, Vector databases, CUDA programming.

* Extensive experience in AI/ML system development.

* Competitive records on Kaggle. (A Plus)

* Experience with docker / K8S is preferred.

* Experience with web application development is preferred.

* Good communication skills in cross-organizational projects.

* Ability to communicate comfortably in English and Mandarin.

Work location: Hsinchu, Taichung, Tainan or Taoyuan (Taiwan)
