We are a newly formed stealth subsidiary of Capcon, a unicorn in 2.5D/3D semiconductor advanced packaging, with Wright Partners working alongside Capcon to build the venture. We are entering the market at an inflection point: hyperscaler demand for CPO, the shift from pluggables-packaged optics (CPO), optical subassemblies (OSAs), optical chips and adjacent photonic components. The role

You will be our founding commercial hire, owning business development and revenue growth across SEA, Japan, and Korea.

This is a hands-on 0 to 1 role. You will help build the commercial engine from the ground up, working directly with the founding team to identify where we can win, open the right accounts, develop customer relationships, scope opportunities, and turn early engagements into commercial traction.

You will personally open accounts, understand customer needs, scope deals, develop pilots and NRE engagements, and close POs. You will not be stepping into an established sales organization or inheriting a mature funnel. You will help shape where we play, how we win, and how we build the first commercial traction, while building the playbook by running it yourself.

This is a role for someone who wants to build something from the ground up, not simply manage an existing sales pipeline.

What you'll do

Expand the pipeline aggressively. Open new accounts at photonics-focused OSATs across SEA, Japan, and Korea — Jabil, Fabrinet (TH), Inari, OSE, and equivalents — and grow our wallet share within existing accounts.
Work both sides of the OSAT relationship. Engage capex decision-makers (COO, VP Ops, plant GMs, procurement) on the OSAT side, and process / yield / failure-analysis engineers on the principal side (Broadcom, Lumentum, Coherent, Marvell, Cisco) who actually specify inspection requirements.
Scope and close pilots and NRE projects. Translate customer process pain points (failure modes, escape rates, throughput bottlenecks) into scoped pilots, NRE-funded development engagements, and ultimately multi-unit tool orders.
Own the commercial pipeline end-to-end. Personally drive forecasting, pricing, contract negotiation, and PO closure — working closely with our applications and engineering teams in Singapore and at Capcon HQ.
Be the voice of the customer internally. Feed roadmap, spec, and competitive intelligence back to product and engineering. Your early wins and losses will shape the product itself.

What you'll need

Required

7+ years in semiconductor capital equipment sales or BD, with a track record of personally closing tool POs (not just consumables or services).
Experience building a new market, product, business line, or customer base from 0 to 1.
Existing, warm relationships at photonics OSATs in at least SEA and preferably Japan and Korea, at both operational/capex and engineering levels.
Direct experience selling into or working with photonics principals (Broadcom, Lumentum, Coherent, Marvell, Cisco, Intel PSG, etc.).
Strong technical fluency in optical packaging: CPO, OSAs, InP/SiPh die, fiber attach, active/passive alignment, and the inspection / metrology challenges across these flows.
Demonstrated ability to scope NRE engagements and convert pilots into volume tool orders.
Hunter mentality. You should be energised — not exhausted — by cold calls, plant visits, and unscheduled flights to chase a deal.
Comfort as an individual contributor.

Strongly preferred

Prior experience at an AOI, metrology, or inspection equipment vendor (e.g. KLA, Camtek, Onto, Cohu, Mycronic, Vitrox).
Existing network into hyperscaler photonics teams (Meta, Microsoft, Google, AWS) who increasingly drive CPO spec downstream.

What success looks like

6 months: Qualified pipeline established across 8–12 new target accounts; 2–3 active pilot or NRE conversations beyond Inari.
12 months: First paid pilots / NRE projects signed with new accounts; first new-account tool PO landed or in late-stage negotiation; meaningful expansion of existing engagements.
