We are seeking an experienced and self-driven Senior Legal Counsel to support high-net-worth (HNW) insurance business across multiple jurisdictions. The role focuses on offshore insurance policies (including Bermuda issued policies) and cross border distribution, ensuring compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will work independently, advising on complex insurance and wealth solutions for HNW and UHNW clients, with a unique opportunity to help build and shape an integrated wealth platform.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide legal advice on HNW insurance products, including life, wealth planning, and bespoke insurance solutions.
Advise on offshore insurance structures (including structures held under trust arrangements) with particular focus on Bermudaissued policies and other offshore jurisdictions.
Review, draft, and negotiate insurance policies, endorsements reinsurance agreements, and distribution agreements.
Advise on crossborder insurance distribution rules, licensing, and regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
Partner with operations, compliance, risk, and business stakeholders on regulatory interpretation, governance, and regulatory change.
Manage and instruct external counsel in offshore and onshore jurisdictions.
Handle regulatory inquiries, audits, or legal issues arising from HNW insurance.
Provide pragmatic, commercially focused legal advice to senior stakeholders.
Contribute to internal policies, legal guidance, and training on offshore insurance, reinsurance and crossborder distribution matters.

Job Requirements:

Qualified lawyer in a common law jurisdiction (e.g. Hong Kong, UK, Singapore or equivalent).
8-12+ years postqualification experience in insurance and/or wealthrelated legal work.
Strong experience advising on HNW insurance and wealth structuring.
Demonstrated familiarity with premium financing structures in an HNW/UHNW context.
Proven knowledge of offshore insurance regimes (experience with Bermuda is an advantage).
Solid understanding of crossborder insurance distribution and related regulatory frameworks.
Experience gained inhouse at an insurer, reinsurer, financial institution, or leading insurance/private wealth law firm preferred.
Ability to work independently and manage complex, highvalue matters.
Strong communication, drafting, negotiation, and stakeholdermanagement skills.
Commercial, solutionoriented mindset.
Fluency in English and proficiency in written and spoken Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin) is highly preferred to effectively communicate with stakeholders across Hong Kong and regional markets.
