Required Experience And Skills

5+ years of experience as a Finance Accounting SME, Finance Data Analyst, Business Data Analyst, or similar role within the banking or financial services industry.
Strong domain knowledge of:
P&L and financial performance reporting
Cost allocation
Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP)
General Ledger structures
Chart of Accounts and accounting hierarchies
Finance reporting processes
Demonstrated experience performing business process analysis, not limited to technical data querying.
Strong hands-on SQL skills for data analysis, profiling, reconciliation, and validation.
Proven ability to translate business requirements into data models, mappings, business rules, and reporting requirements.
Experience working with Finance Accounting data models, data warehouses, data marts, or enterprise data platforms.
Experience with Finance Accounting reporting suites and management reporting solutions.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including complex formulas, PivotTables, data reconciliation, and analytical modelling.
Comfortable working closely with data modellers to define entities, attributes, relationships, dimensions, hierarchies, and financial measures.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate complex financial data issues.
Strong stakeholder management, communication, and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related discipline.
Professional accounting qualification such as CPA, ACCA, CIMA, CA, or equivalent would be advantageous.
Experience with banking Finance transformation, Finance data platforms, or Finance data warehouse programmes.
Familiarity with dimensional modelling, logical/physical data modelling, and data lineage concepts.
Experience with BI and reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, or similar platforms.
Exposure to data governance, metadata management, data quality, and Finance data controls is desirable.
