The Opportunity

We are seeking a visionary and strategic Director of Finance to serve as the financial steward of Capella Taipei. This is a critical leadership role that goes beyond traditional accounting. You will be a key business partner to the General Manager and the leadership team, providing insights that drive profitability, enhance guest value, and ensure the long-term financial health of our iconic property. You will lead a dedicated finance team in an environment where precision meets passion.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Financial Leadership:

Act as the primary financial advisor to the General Manager and department heads.
Develop and execute the hotel's annual budget, long-range financial plan, and forecasting models.
Conduct thorough financial analysis, identify trends, and provide actionable recommendations to optimize revenue, control costs, and improve overall performance.
Evaluate capital expenditure proposals and investment opportunities.

Operational Excellence & Control:

Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, general ledger, and cash flow management.
Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of all monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting in accordance with corporate standards and local regulations.
Maintain a robust system of internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance.
Lead the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors.

Team Development & Management:

Recruit, mentor, and inspire a high-performing finance and accounting team.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, professional development, and exceptional service within the department.
Ensure the team provides efficient and supportive service to all other hotel departments.

Compliance & Risk Management:

Ensure full compliance with all local tax laws, statutory requirements, and corporate policies.
Manage relationships with banks, financial institutions, and external advisors.
Identify and mitigate financial risks.

Qualifications & Experience

A bachelor's or master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration is required.
Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive financial management experience, with at least 5 years in a Director-level or similar senior role within the luxury hospitality or hotel industry.
In-depth knowledge of hotel operations, PMS systems, accounting software (Sun System), and financial reporting standards.
Proven experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and business intelligence tools.
Strong leadership presence with a proven ability to build, motivate, and develop a team.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
High integrity, meticulous attention to detail, and a strategic, analytical mindset.
Fluency in English and Mandarin is required.
