Accountant

The Accountant is primarily responsible for overseeing month-end closing activities, preparing financial reports and analyses, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards, internal policies, and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure timely and accurate completion of month-end and year-end closing processes
Prepare financial statements, management reports, and financial analyses accurately and on time
Process journal entries and account reconciliations using Sage X3 and/or BlackLine
Manage Fixed Assets accounting, including capitalization, disposals, depreciation schedules, and policy compliance
Support budgeting activities and cash flow forecasting
Assist in the preparation and submission of statutory financial reports
Identify and recommend improvements to finance processes and workflows to enhance efficiency and internal controls
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, statutory requirements, and company policies
Coordinate with tax agents and local authorities on compliance and audit matters
Work closely with external auditors to facilitate audit processes and timely statutory filings
Perform additional duties and ad-hoc assignments as required

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a professional accounting qualification such as ACCA or CIMA
Minimum 5 years of relevant Accounting & Finance experience, preferably within Manufacturing or Logistics industries
Experience in process improvement or optimization initiatives is an added advantage
Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
Proactive, self-driven, and accountable with good attention to detail
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
Adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
