Hiring: Japanese-Speaking Accounting Professional (Senior Accountant Level)

OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a Japanese-speaking Accounting Professional (Senior Accountant level) to join a Singapore-based team on an initial 12-month contract, with strong potential for extension and/or conversion to a permanent role. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead APAC consolidated reporting across multiple entities
Manage month-end close, statutory reporting, and audit support
Oversee end-to-end accounting operations, including payment coordination and issue resolution
Support Japan-related accounting activities, ensuring compliance with Japanese GAAP
Translate communications from Japanese authorities and stakeholders into clear, actionable steps
Coordinate closely with Tax, Treasury, Legal, and BPO partners to resolve issues and drive execution
Contribute to a 3–6 month project focused on process improvements and operational efficiency

QUALIFICATIONS:

At least 5+ years of accounting experience, ideally in a regional or global setup
Strong knowledge of Japanese GAAP and APAC reporting
Business-level Japanese proficiency (spoken and written)
Proven experience supporting Japan operations, including coordination with external partners and statutory processes
A hands-on, detail-oriented professional who can manage end-to-end processes independently
Comfortable navigating a fast-paced, ambiguous environment and driving outcomes
